Method
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl.
- Beat the butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and toasted pecans with a rubber spatula.
- Cover the dough and chill for 30 minutes.
- Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden while the centres remain soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
